Kate graduated with her BA in 2009 from Spring Arbor University, and in 2021 she graduated with her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. She has counseled clients through Eastern Michigan University’s Counselor Training Clinic and Chicago Women’s Health Center where she worked with clients from diverse backgrounds. Kate is able to provide therapy for individuals experiencing different mental health concerns such as relationship difficulties (familial, romantic, friendship), traumatic experiences, and grief and loss.
Kate is particularly passionate about helping folks with their identity concerns, assisting clients to discover and better understand and appreciate who they are as unique individuals. She has specific experience and continued interest working with queer, trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive folks. She takes an integrative approach to her work with clients, borrowing from several frameworks and theories. Kate starts her work from a feminist-relational perspective, working in close collaboration with clients and acknowledging the systems and structures in place that negatively affect our lives. She works primarily with adolescents and adults and will be providing services at the Saline and Ann Arbor offices.
